Latest Shop Addition!

As promised I have added my first ready to ship item to my Etsy shop!  I have spent lots of time creating this amazing cutting board.  Originally I was going to make it a smaller board (with one of the rows of squares removed), but my wife thought it looked kind of funny with two squares on one side and one square on the other side.  So I added the other row and made it look more proportional!  Let me know what you think of this cutting board.  The wood in this board includes hard maple and dark brown edinam.  The maple has burls in it, which is a discoloration because of it being near the root of the tree and adds an extra character to the cutting board.  The edinam is very similar to black walnut... in fact when I went to the hardwood store to buy material for another board a couple weeks later, the owner had the edinam in the same bin as the black walnut and I couldn't even tell the difference until I asked specifically for that type of wood.

Terra Furnishings Inspiration!

While searching for some inspiration on natural edge woodwork I came across a blog from M Stetson Design, which had a featured story on Terra Furnishings.  The post wasn't quite the inspiration I was hoping for since I am not quite that impressive at carving; however, I loved the twisted furniture that Terra Furnishings creates.  Just see the pic to the left.

Terra Furnishings has more than just furniture! They also have carving artwork like the one to the right as well as bowls, vases, candle holders and more.

While reading M Stetson Designs blog post, I also decided to check out their Etsy Shop.  They sell wonderful custom and premade gift tags.  Just check out their shop here: M Stetson Design.

Ready To Ship

I know that all of my items in my shop are "made to order" and I am currently working on making my first ready to ship item... a maple and edinam cutting board somewhat like a combination of the two currently listed for sale in my shop.

Etsy Shop Up and Running

Well, with the holidays over I recently opened an Etsy shop that is named Wooden Pleasures, but since the username was used by somebody in the past I had to use my profile name of wcuster. 

The items featured and that are going to be added in the shop in the next couple weeks that are "made to order" I made and gave out as christmas gifts for my family and my wifes family members.  Hopefully in the near future I will be able to get some ready to ship items posted to my shop. 

I am currently working on a cutting board that once complete I will list in the shop.
